Metalloinvest says to build 1.7 bln rbl ball-rolling mill at OEMK

MOSCOW, Oct 13 (PRIME) -- Russian metals holding Metalloinvest plans to build a second, 1.7 billion rubles ball-rolling mill at its Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant (OEMK) to expand the line of products and completely cover demand of Metalloinvest’s mining plants in grinding balls, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The annual production capacity of the mill should reach around 73,000 tonnes of steel grinding balls with diameters of 20, 40, and 60 millimeters. The facility should be launched in November 2023.

The plant’s first ball-rolling mill plans to produce around 46,000 tonnes of balls with diameters of 90, 100, and 120 millimeters in 2021.

Alexei Kushnarev, managing director of OEMK, said as quoted by the company that OEMK also plans to sell the balls.
